Do You Know What’s Louder Than a Beagle?

Our Services

Immunization & Wellness Care

We offer wellness programs designed for your pet’s specific needs. These include a comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite testing, heartworm and flea control, vaccines, specialized blood tests, and spay and neuter packages.

Internal Medicine

We cover all areas of internal medicine, including cardiology, ophthalmology, neurology, dermatology, gastroenterology, orthopedic surgery,  oncology,  endocrinology, and more. If more advanced care is required, we offer referrals to several specialists, including the College of Veterinary Medicine at North Carolina State University.

Spay & Neuter

Spaying and neutering is surgery, so we take the procedure seriously, even if it is routine. All patients receive high-level monitoring, pain medication, E-collars (cones), and state-of-the-art anesthetic monitoring such as EKG, blood oxygen levels, blood pressure, and respiration monitors. They also receive IV catheters and K-laser therapy. Call to receive a quote and schedule your pet’s appointment!

We accept spay and neuter vouchers from county shelters to help with the cost. Make sure to let us know if you have one!

Dental Care

Dental care is as important for your pet as it is for you! At AniMed Veterinary Hospital, we use modern and safe ultrasonic scaling to clean each tooth above and below the gum line. We then polish the teeth to make them more plaque resistant. If advanced dental care, including x-rays, root canals, and braces, is required, we will provide referrals.

Euthanasia Services

Saying goodbye to your best friend is never easy. We make the process as low-stress as possible to ensure your and your pet’s comfort. We offer cremation, where we return the ashes to you or return your pet’s body to the earth per local regulations.

Pain Management

Although they can’t express their concerns, pets require pain management, too. At AniMed Veterinary Hospital, we work to recognize and alleviate pain in our patients. Pain management can reduce your pet’s stress, increase their recovery time, and improve their mood and activity levels. We are always learning and incorporating the latest research to ensure your pet receives optimum levels of care. From nutritional supplementation to physical therapy, we try to provide pain management naturally before providing medication. We monitor patients that are on medication and implement therapy when possible.

Fully Stocked Pharmacy

We offer a wide range of the best veterinary drugs on the market. We also offer an online store where you may begin shopping today and have your medication shipped to your house.

Behavioral Medicine

Through observation and a thorough patient history examination, our doctors can identify a behavioral disorder, like separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and develop a treatment plan. You want to live comfortably with your pet. To reach a mutual level of understanding, we can help you understand how to help your pet overcome its challenges.

Blood Transfusion

In case of emergency, we maintain available blood donors for dogs and cats. The blood is collected from healthy donors that are current on their vaccines and live nearby.

We also have a Board Certified Surgeon available to come on site for surgery and consultations.

Radiology

X-rays are a useful tool to help our veterinarians examine a pet’s musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. We have digital radiology at our office but can export the files to other specialists for further input if needed.

Ultrasound

K-Laser helps to improve circulation, shorten the healing time, improve joint function, and overall makes your pet feel better.

Just like humans, pets benefit from a balanced, nutritional diet. Some may need to follow a prescription diet to help with a specific disorder or weight management. Our staff can provide professional recommendations to help your pet live a healthy and active life.
